Staines in the 1950's

This photo shows the Lino Factory from the air.
Top left shows the gas tank along the Causeway with the river running just below it, just right of the largest width of the river is St Mary's Church. The top right corner shows the Lino factory with the big chimney. the buildings that come towards the centre of the picture are also the Lino. below those buildings is the High Street that comes right down to the bottom right corner. The big building in the left bottom segment is the Mumford and Lobb storage building that was pulled down to make way for the new one way street plan. The railway line to Windsor is running from middle right to bottom left. The red dot is where Church Street, Hugh Street and Clarence Street meet, by the Town Hall/Market Square.
